CCM AND EFAS ENGAGED IN INSTITUTIONAL TRAINING
The Mozambican Chamber of Commerce (CCM) and Customs Tax Engineering and Services (EFAS) recently conducted training on the topic: 1st Advanced Training on Cyber Security. The meeting took place at the premises of the Olympic Committee, Maputo city.
According to Helder Nhampule, trainer of the 1st Advanced Cybersecurity Training, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have been gaining momentum in organizations. “There is a need for mechanisms to ensure safe interaction between users of these technologies. And through this training it is possible for each trainee to gain valuable insight into cyber security issues in organizations. ” Nhampule also noted that in order to minimize possible cyber attacks, organizations should implement the cyber culture not only at the level of computer personnel, but also at the level of all workers and collaborators, ie raising awareness among all employees with a view to developing together a safety culture within the organization.
On the other hand, the engineer stressed that the inability of some organizations to respond to cyber attack phenomena is the main obstacle.
"Organizations have systems and services but some have not been observing the security process and in the event of a cyber attack they will not be able or unresponsive."
Regarding the expectations of this training for the trainees, the trainer said that it is hoped that the trainee will be able to take what they have gained in the training and implement at their organization level. Mario Macaringue, one of the trainees, understands that the training was very productive because he was able to capitalize on knowledge that will facilitate the control of cyber attacks.
“Now we can improve our activities because we already know some rules we didn’t have before, so we left with tools that will allow us to maximize control of any cyber attacks on our organizations,” he said.
